Family Portrait Photography

Family is one of the most important things in life. Family portraits have evolved over the decades, going through more trends than fashion. The style of your family portrait can usually indicate the decade in which it was taken, from the sunday best clothing and blue cloud backdrops of the 70s & 80s to the bright clothing and bright white backgrounds of the early 00s.

Family portraits, as far as we are concerned, shouldn't be staged or unnatural, they should be relaxed, casual, and most importantly fun. We like to think of family portraits as a sample of your family life, not dressed in clothes you never wear, and not pretending to be something you're not. A family portrait session with Developing Perceptions Photography is designed to let your family be themselves, so you have genuine memories to look back on. That doesn't mean the kids won't be on their best behaviour, but it does mean that it will be their best behaviour and not an act for the sake of the camera.
