About Me
For me, photography and filmmaking are more than just my job, they are true passions. I have been creating images, in one form or another, since I was 12 years old. I inherited a camera from my grandfather, and was immediately captivated by the potential for creativity as well as the constant opportunity for learning. Even now I love to pick up a camera, create something and learn something new. To me, photos and videos are special; They hold precious memories safely for years and can reignite a long forgotten feeling in an instant; They keep our family safe under our watchful eyes even when they are far away; They can tell a wonderful story without a single written word.
Since that original spark of inspiration at the age of 12 I have continued to develop my skills at every opportunity. Following in my grandfather’s footsteps, I began to learn about photography by shooting hundreds of spools of film on the camera I inherited from him, discovering both the technical and the artistic skills needed to create great photos. Studying the art of photography and continually investing in the very latest photographic & lighting equipment, to ensure that I can provide the highest quality of service and the finest results.
In the years that followed, I truly came to appreciate the importance of photography as a way of preserving my memories of family and friends, and my passion continued to grow until I formed Developing Perceptions Photography so I could give my clients the gift of memories that they could treasure. It is this passion that drives my business and is embodied in my company name. Developing Perceptions is committed to helping people to see more beauty and happiness in everything, from weddings and parties to family portraits, we make unique images of beautiful lives.
